Introduction
FKG & JC invited the group to their new home to continue their tradition of hosting fabulous food and wine events in their new digs, which is as comfortable and nice as ever.
2007 Morey-Blanc Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Blanc 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Lean pear fruit, with little to no oak influence (making it reminiscent of Chablis). Fairly light bodied with medium to high acidity, and a hint of minerality on the finish.

2010 Bethel Heights Grüner Veltliner 89 Points

This was a mystery wine brought by Emilio who hinted that it was from a well known region, but an odd varietal for it. It had a screw top so I thought it was from Aus/NZ, but no. FKG eliminated many varietals based on the profile. I think it was Ms. Emilio that correctly guessed Oregon and after exhausting the varietals, I guessed GV to finally get that. Fruit profile of tart apple, with no oak, high acidity, and fairly light body. A crisp, refreshing wine, and suggest letting it warm above 60 degrees to let it take on more richness.

1995 Château Dauzac 90 Points

Opened an hour before drinking, but not decanted. Nose has tobacco and floral notes. On the palate, light to medium body, medium acidity, with reserved currant fruit. Some tea, cedar, and menthol notes on the somewhat short finish. Low alcohol, old school style claret that still has some firm tannins (not surprising for a 95).

2003 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chaupin 90 Points

Full minus body, with rather low acidity, and quite ripe with some raisiny notes on the finish that hurt my score. Lacking the pepper, garrigue, and earth I normally expect from CdP and tastes more like a Paso Robles grenache or maybe even an Amarone given the ripeness. A nice enough wine for that style, just not what I expect from CdP. Recommend drinking these in the near term, as there is likely no benefit to further aging.

2001 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 93 Points

Dark cherry fruit on a medium to full bodied frame with medium acidity. Nicely balanced with tannin and acidity with some tobacco notes on the medium plus length finish. Drank well after a few minutes in the glass following about an hour of slow ox with no decanting. Still young, but has entered its drinking window.

2001 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 92 Points

Rich plum and currant fruit with full body and medium acidity with resolved tannins. Has the structure to age further gracefully and add more complexity, which it had less of than most of the other wines this evening. Nicely balanced too. 01 is one of my favorite vintages for Napa and this will no doubt get even better.

Lush currant fruit, medium to full bodied, and low to medium acidity. No eucalyptus notes with this showing. Very smooth and balanced with elegant, resolved tannins. Drinking very well now, probably at its peak. 93-94

2002 Betz Family Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille 94 Points

My first time enjoying this wine, having had the Cote Rousse and Clos de Betz before, and it made a memorable impression. Lush fruit of plum, blueberry, and currants. Very well balanced, that had a lithe entry, but had a rich, palate coating, long finish that made this wine stand out for me. Also some nice complexity at this stage.

1994 Quinta do Crasto Porto Vintage 92 Points

No bricking yet, though this was drinking well and opened nicely without any heat on the finish. Thick and rich, but a bit less sweet than some others. Still quite youthful, but it has entered its drinking window.
