• 2010 Jean Noel Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

  medium minus intensity aromas of sandalwood, citrus and stone fruit. The wine is savoury and rich with slight butter nores subtle stone fruit, balanced and very long. Very good

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

  aromas of peach, citrus, butter, more of the same o the palate, quite weighty but still retains elegance. Good

• 2010 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay

  leather, slight spice, red currant and cherry, elegant, balanced fruit and spice accompanied by fine silky tannin on the long finish. A bit simple, perhaps, but I rather like it.

• 2010 Nicolas Rossignol Pommard Les Vignots

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard

  funky farmyard, tending to black fruit, savoury, notes of cedar, quite chunky tannic grip, weighty, heavily structured. Not for me.

Liked the charddy, pinot and the gaia (but only in about 10 years)

• 2012 Grosset Riesling Alea

  Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley

  Slight lime conserve notes dominate the nose then it's medium plus acid, front of mouth and mid palate grip and off dry residual sugar. A bit short and a bit simple.

• 2011 Grosset Chardonnay Piccadilly

  Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Piccadilly Valley

  Toasty, buttery, tending to ripe stone fruit, chunky, massive, slightly burnt toast notes as well. Yeah, old school new world. Fun.

• 2011 Grosset Pinot Noir

  Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills

  Pale, slightly jubey, red fruit; strawberry, nice but a little rip on the nose. Medium plus acid, bit stalky, red fruit, hmm. Quite nice.

• 2010 Grosset Gaia

  Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley

  Rubber, concentrated blackcurrant, herbaceous notes, graphite, pencil shavings, clove. Very young, massive grippy tannin, medium plus acid all over blackcurrant. Very young indeed.

• 2012 Torbreck The Steading Blanc

  Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

  white flower, musk, stone fruit - peach and apricot, sweet spice, slight front of mouth phenolic grip, slightly warm, slightly bitter, lacks fruit on the palate which could all be forgiven if it was half the 38 AUD they are charging for it.

  medium intensity, green peppercorn, black fruit, spice, slightly burnt and bitter fruit, chalky tannin. Okay for $20

• 2011 Torbreck Shiraz The Struie

  Slight farmyard notes, leather, spice, in the mouth, off dry, cream, then savoury black fruit and fine talc like tannin. Okay

  Slight perfumed top note with touches of apricot jam over green peppercorn, juicy, fruity but a little disjointed. Meh

  Cream, vanilla, spirituous, perfumed, floral, over black berry and pepper corn. In the mouth the wine is porty with black pepper, vanilla, apricot, nah.
