Fully mature, gentle and ripe, layered, wonderful interplay of ripe fruit and salty basalt minerality, beautifully rich, dense and elegant, velvety and energetic, floral topnotes; excellent length. Wonderfully subtle and precise, a truly great Jesuitengarten at the peak of its powers. Shows hints of wax and honey on both palate and nose, as fresh as a daisy, absolutely no signs of age, incredibly disgestible and drinkable for such a powerful wine amazing depth on the nose. A true vino da meditazione.

Second time in three months, this time a normal bottle but one with a US backlabel. So pure, clean and precise, wonderful old-vine creaminess, deep, perfectly integrated spicy oak; satiny, perfectly balanced, totally seamless, brilliant energy and quartz/minerality, wonderfully ripe and primary black cherry fruit, hint of undergrowth, ripe acidity carries the flavours to an outstanding finish. Magical balance of lightness and intensity, at the peak of its powers. Salty minerality but not the bacon of a Höllenberg, soft and sexy in a way, very moreish. Will it age much longer? Judging from this bottle, I doubt it. Now to 2017?

Honeyed depth, wonderfully vibrant acidity, floral, relatively light weight, not too sweet, elderflower, rose petal even, white peach, Nahe fruitsalad, very elegant and energetic.
