L12104. Quite a deep colour; the nose is intense and nutty, green olives; on the palate deep and chalky, salty and with hints of fruit; good length. Not a very charming wine but a resolute one with power and persistence.
Riesling on basalt, that is exactly what it is. Medium-sweet, nice weight, smoky, strong note of herbs (aniseed, thyme even), minerals and some flowers, lovely acidity; good length, complete. Fully mature and drinking very well, another five years in hand.
Wonderfully rich and earthy Riesling, with ripe fruit, lovely balance and ripe acidity, mature but engaging, nice floral touches, hint of bitters; very good length. At peak.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux
Not as modern as in certain other vintages, earthy and plummy, even a bit dusty, good depth, good balance but not very exciting, solid rather than inspiring, good length. At peak.
Classic, cedary, lovely and mature Dow; spices, bright red crushed fruit, very stylish and harmonious, clean and poised, medium weight, vibrant and zesty acidity; powdery, very good length. Quite delicious.
NV Benoit Gautier Vouvray Brut Antique 84 Points

Pleasant, apples, simple, no pretentions, nothing to shout about.
