Mas Farmhouse, NY

A group of wine geeks got together to watch Somm, the new documentary about the Master Sommelier exam, and then have a meal with some nice bottles to discuss it. I think all those MS's would have been elated to enjoy the caliber of beverages that we did, particularly as the night went on.
A nice crispy trout dish
Pork loin with mushrooms, fava beans, and an amazing celery root side cooked in pork fat.
A thin strip of ribeye steak
A tart with fantastically acidic little wild strawberries
2002 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Buttery citrus nose and creamy texture, but still crisp. Clean bottle. Well-paired with trout.
