Beautiful nose of peaches, minerals, and white florals. With some air, this built some real depth with lanolin, and lychee becoming more and more alluring. Palate was nice and rich. Beautiful expressions of peaches, mangos, kumquat, and mineral. The minerality is holding on, and the acidity is nicely prickly.
Beautifully briny nose, with sweet lemon and mushroom. This is textbook chablis, that while young, is already drinking very well. Deep and dense palate with great acidity and layers of flavors.
Initially this is just killer. Smokey, salty, and rich with some white peach and mushroom. The palate is firm and unyielding at this point...certainly less approachable compared to the 2000 drank alongside. Gotta love the chalk and mineral cut to this...but could certainly use more time.

Beautifully rich and elegant nose. Has ripe red berries, earth, mushroom, with stoney undertones. No hint of the green meanines AT ALL. Palate is sexy, lithe, and complex with layers of dried florals, mushroom, red berries and earth. Wonderful stuff.

Sweet nose of cherry, pepper, and roses. Comments were made about it having some brett, but it wasn't overly noticeable to me. Enjoyed the green notes, the red fruits, and the tobacco. Nice length and depth...

Rich nose of berries, earth and florals. Gorgeous depth, and bright acidity for the vintage. This is a standout for the vintage. Where most producers' fruit get too dense, dark and cloying, Brouin retains great balance and finesse.
Compared to the glass I had at UGC, this was a touch less enticing. The beautiful dark fruits, acidity, and earth were still there in force, but the alcohol spiked just a touch for me. Still a great bottle.

Took some time to blossom, but air revealed a pristine core of red fruits, earth, and some barnyard. The fruit on the palate is expectedly rigid, but classy, and deep. Loved the mouthfeel on this...silky, smooth, resolved tannins. Gorgeous, with a lot of life.

Inviting profile with some brown sugar, black cherry and earth. Typical 2002 with the big fruit profile, and cool acidity. Nice combination, but it's outclassed (easily) by the 1999 drank alongside.

Beautiful nose of sous bois, red fruits, subtle brown sugar, and rich rose notes. Bright, and energetic, this is so so pure. I love pinot that has a subtle tartness to it, and this had that and a real depth. Gorgeous wine.
