Medium yellow. Brighter fruit aromatics than the 2010. Slightly lighter weight than that wine. Nice bitter citrus and less wood. Much more pleasing balance than the older vintage, but not as seamless and balanced as the 2011 Les Clous, which took the prize amongst the whites today.
France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise
Light ruby. Lively black fruit and anise aromas. Essentially delicate but lovely feel and body. Moderate finish, light remaining tannins. Very good Bourgogne, but one has to ask if you would buy this instead of say a Premier Cru Savigny or Beaune for the same price.
Medium ruby. Tart cherry and char on the nose. Bigger wine with redder fruit than the other 2 reds. Spicy and briary, like Savigny in this latter aspect. No undue richness or sweetness, but very nice, complete mouth feel.
2011 A. et P. de Villaine Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise Les Clous
France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise
Medium yellow. Ripe citrus and some wood. Medium weight, wonderfully smooth texture. Bright orange fruit, good acidity and finish. Terrific Bourgogne.

2010 A. et P. de Villaine Rully Les Saints-Jacques Blanc
France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Rully
Deeper yellow. Toasty nose. Middle weight. Obvious wood on the palate that dominates the apple fruit. Too much oak.
