There is no doubting the complexity of the blend (up to 200 different wines) and of the wine. The house style is also clearly recognisable; balance and harmony are beyond question. And yet this seems to come at the expense of precision and definition - it is so well blended that the component parts get lost - or are there just to many of them? Good wine none the less but competent rather than interesting.
Crisp and minerally, light and refreshing but with good flavour intensity; the gooseberry and passionfruit flavours are a clear play on New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This may be distracting to purists, but it is done well.

A wonderful 20 YO, perfectly showcasing that balance between age and energy, freshness and evolution; candied fruit and nuts, lovely length.
