Introduction

A salutary lesson in how the best laid plans can go astray. Five bottles selected plus Pimms to wile away a Wiltshire weekend.

However, three hours in the boot down the M4/M5 corridor on the hottest day of the hottest heatwave since '76, led to late changes in arrangements and a rather different wine experience than intended

Flight 2 - Saturday after the pub (1 Note)

  • 2011 Split Rock Sauvignon Blanc 84 Points

    New Zealand, South Island, Nelson

    (7/20/2013)

Despite nearly a day in the fridge, this wilted in the heat tasting a little like a light pineapple syrup.

Tried to combine with blue cheese, momentary reminders of why this has been such a past staple but not enough to make it through the full measure.
