Bar Boulud, NY Tasted Thursday, August 8, 2013 by Omar Khayyam with 460 views
apple wedges, fresh, fine, medium finish. Easy to drink and easy to like. Summer freshness.

great nose with some truffle magic, dried apples, clear but well integrated oak notes (buttery), but thinnish - does not have any legs to stand on.
tight nose, but fine, fresh, typical gruner veltliner, some gooseberry, white flowers, yellow apples.
great bottle. wild and full of berry magic and lovely complexity.
Purple colour. Very earthy nose full of iron ore, but with a light body, simple and fresh, the alcohol heat distracts.
dark red; great nose with earth and mature dark berries, but there is balance and some elegance to this new world pinot.

varm red colour, a little extracted, fruit forward, it keeps its secrets from me tonight. Not as expressive or complex as I would have thought.
wow - what a lot of stuff in this! Bitter almond, sweet cinnamon tea, cherry pits and cherries to the hilt. fantastic and excellent pairing with the Coupe de cerises at Bar Boulud, NY.
