Introduction

Notes from the event orginizer:

The 2009 vintage in Beaujolais was an outstanding one throughout France, but it was particularly kind to Beaujolais. Here the relatively warm (but not to hot) summer played well to Gamay's (Beaujolais' varietal) tartness, with the wines coming out ripe and remarkably lush in fruit, while still having a balancing streak of acid. This was a vintage where the better Cru Beaujolais promised development and complexity with a few years of patience, and could be easily laid down, potentially for ten years or more.

Tonight, we'll continue to track these 2009 Cru Beaujolais with a double flighted tasting. The first flight is a mix of Cru's, including three Julienas and three Jean-Paul Brun Beaujolais from other Crus. The second flight consists of nine Beaujolais from Morgon, a Cru which was particularly favored in this great vintage.

Flight 1 - FLIGHT 1: Julienas, Moulin-a-Vent, Fleury, Buissy (6 Notes)

Flight 2 - FLIGHT 2: Morgon (9 Notes)
