Introduction
I got together with some friends and tasted some new (to me) Jura wines, as well as a mix of random (mostly French) wines. All tasted sighted unless otherwise noted.
NV Les Granges Paquenesses Crémant du Jura 87 Points

Interesting nose of green apple, minerals and a combination of herb and saline that makes me think of a rocky jetty (which, of course, I love). Crisp and bright on the palate with fine bubbles. Lemon-lime flavors and some fun seashell, saline and herbal qualities. Begs for oysters. 100% Chardonnay.

2011 Les Granges Paquenesses Côtes du Jura La Mamette 86 Points

Nice combination of rich, nutty stone fruit and minerals on the nose. Brisk minerals on the palate, crushed rocks, mixed in with cantaloupe melon and flowers. A nice oily kick on the finish, but the acid keeps this crisp all along. Unique, but I was hoping for a bit more.

2010 Les Granges Paquenesses Côtes du Jura La Pierre 87 Points

Aromas of white peach, lychee and some nutty and spicy herbal notes. Focused acid, lots of minerals and hints of musk to the white peach and apple fruit. I actually liked the 2011 better.

More expressive and generous than the 2010, I like thoe aromas of whie peach, honeycomb, white flowers and some saltwater. Brisk on the palate, but the fruit is rich as well, combining melon and lychee with honey and nutty notes. Not an oxidative style at all, so it allows those pure, clean flavors to show through. Really dig the mineral and sea salt zip to this Savagnin.

Tasted blind. Some rich fruit (apricot, yellow apple) mixed in with some sea salt, minerals and waxy notes. On the palate, the richness of the 2009 fruit shows through, but the acid is sleek and keeps it all balanced. Pineapple, minerals, sea salt, a bit of creamy hazelnut. Perhaps lacking a bit of freshness. I prefer the 2010, but this is still pretty good stuff.

Nice strawberry and cherry blossom on the nose, but I got more perfume this time. Fresh, tangy, bright strawberry fruit and a bit of pepper. Not the most complex Provence rose, but a reliable wine.

2012 La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rosé 90 Points

Great stuff, as always. I really dig this vintage, and I think it could do some fun things over the next year or two. Lots of strawberry and herbs on the nose, some pepper. Pure, bright fruit and thrashing minerals. Just beautiful with a long, complex finish. Summer's over, but this stuff would be good any time of year.

2012 Weingut Knauß Trollinger 85 Points

A very light ruby color, almost like a pinot noir roses (which, when I tasted this blind, was my guess). It smells like sweet cherries, strawberries, and some peppery-earth notes. The palate doesn't show much acid, and lots of sweet berry fruit, along with some nutty and peppery aspects. Silky textured with mild tannins and an overall fun approach, I actually guessed this as a Sonoma rose of pinot noir. Way off. First time I've tried a Trollinger in all these years.

2010 Château de Sours Bordeaux 79 Points

Currant, red raspberries, some charcoal and green pepper. On the palate, medium tannins, and the acid is a bit sharp. The cherries taste a bit sour, and like they’ve been dusted with peppercorns and green herbs. Some nice earthy and mocha aspects. Overall, it falls a bit short for my palate.
