Lovely weight of ripe red fruit, elegant, stylish, silky, seamless, fragrant, floral, subtle use of oak (much less prominent than in the 2008), lovely mineral energy, with attractive meaty/gamey notes, hint of cream, beautiful balance, just the right amount of tannic grip; very good length. There is a certain star-quality about this wine, a feminine style of Côte Rôtie, 90% Syrah, 10% Viognier, 20% new oak. Drinking very well - now until 2019.
Grenache and Syrah. Flavoursome, deep slate minerality, energetic, fresh red and black fruit, spicy, hint of black pepper, tightly wound, hint of garrigue, aromatic nose, black cherry flavours, nice support and warmth from the oak; good length.
