2008 Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Barlow
South Africa, Coastal Region, Stellenbosch

2012 Bouchard Finlayson Chardonnay Crocodile's Lair

The rubbery reductive notes just overpower anything good on offer here. I suppose they may blow off over time, although they were still present on day 2.

2011 Bouchard Finlayson Pinot Noir Galpin Peak
South Africa, Cape South Coast, Walker Bay, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
The makings of a decent Pinot were marred by strong reductive notes of burnt rubber, creating an impression of synthetic, manipulated juice. I wouldn't go anywhere near this at around $50.

I don't typically reach for the bubbly, but this was nice and smooth, with a touch of sweetness and great acidity.

2010 Mario and Giorgio Brunori Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Alborada

Good tipicity for a Lacrima - that very unusual herbal, bright character. Probably not as good as the Campi. Frank was disappointed, but it's a bit of a blur to me.
