From ridiculously low yields of 10 hl/ha and 45 years old vines in the famous for its cab Trifylia region, this is a complex red of dark ruby-purple color, displaying a complex nose of dark and red cherry, coffee, chocolate, cedar and leathery scents (the region's signature) that are expected to become more obvious as the wine ages. Medium to full-bodied, rich and generous with firm tannins and good length. Should revisit after 3 to 5 years.
Fairly dark yellow-gold. Candied chestnut (marron glace), old cognac, ripe apricot and noticeable vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied, dense with rich fruit and moderate acidity. Long aftertaste. Heavier and less flexible in its pairings compared to Gerovassiliou's offering, but still a very interesting viognier from one of Greece's top and most innovative producers.
A late-harvest red sporting a very dark, opaq color and a chocolatey nose of jammy berry fruit and sweet spice. Full-bodied, very dense and creamy-textured with velvety tannins, ultra-rich almost big fruit and balancing acidity. Aftertaste is very long. On par with a top New World Rhone-varietal red. Quite pricey at over 40 euros.
Flinty minerality tightly wound with grapefruit and green pear. Medium-bodied with multi-layered fruit and noticeable alcohol. Long aftertaste. At a nice stage to enjoy.
A strange and unusual wine. Color is dark amber and the nose is funky with obvious oxidation (sherry-like) and bretty character. On the palate it is full-bodied with noticeable heat from excessive alcohol and a very long aftertaste. Santorini's signature minerality is there, but somewhat hidden behind the funk. From 100 years old vines. Not a wine for everybody but still quite interesting if you are willing to pay around 40 euros for a bottle. Now I know that my previous bottle was corked!

At this stage this is more expressive and enjoyable than the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres. Light to medium lemon yellow. A lovely combination of roasted almonds with citrus fruit and mineral scents on the nose. Medium-bodied and elegant with freshness and high acidity. Satisfying aftertaste. Elegant and extremely food-friendly.
Best red of the show. Light to medium garnet. Expressive nose with red cherry, violets and nail polish remover. Medium-bodied but mouth-coating with firm but fine tannins, vibrant fruit and bright acidity. Long aftertaste and excellent aging potential.
Medium to dark ruby. Unusually clean compared to previous vintages, displaying red and dark cherries, plum, earthy minerality and herbal scents. Medium-bodied and silky textured with freshness and balancing acidity. Medium+ aftertaste.
This is consistently an overperformer in its price range. Expressive nose of mint, berry fruit and tomato leaf. Medium-bodied with vibrant fruit, silky tannins amd bright acidity. Med+ aftertaste.
Dark garnet. Coffee beans, eucalypt, blueberries, spicy and meaty scents on the nose. Medium-bodied, velvety textured and balanced with a long aftertaste. Excellent to drink now.
