Decanted for an hour. Intense and very impressing mature tertiary earthy-leathery aroma with notes of ripe fruits, tar, oak and licorice Med-full bodied, soft integrated tannins, med acidity level, lacks structure and complexity - hence med harmony, quite low in fruits, dry oak and tar. Surprisingly, compared to its very low price and to the other superior Rioja and Ribera del Duero wine tasted this evening - this wine left a great impression, mainly due to its great aroma that leaves a profound impression. GREAT VALUE FOR LESS THAN $10 WINE !!!
Decanted for an hour - which, from my experience with this wine, is not enough in order to enjoy it optimally.
dark red-brown Fine, developed quality earthy aroma, but not an intense one. Med-thin bodied, well balanced fruitiness & earthy flavors, integrated tannins, good level of acidity & bitterness, good harmony, pleasant ending. Great value for money. One of the cheapest Gran Reserva that I encountered in recent years. ( I must admit that the low score is influenced from the impressing 2008 Antaño crianza we had before this wine)
dark red-purple-brown developed secondary & tertiary aromas with ripe cherries and earthy notes Full bodied, excellent acidity level, ripe cherries & plums, well balanced, savory flavors of salty chocolate, grip tannins, balanced harmony & acidity, good aftertaste. required advanced opening 3-5 hours, then it really shows. value for money. can still be aged for at least 10 years.
dark red color developed rich secondary & tertiary aromas full body, optimal tannins & bitterness, balanced acidity, excellent harmony, chocolate &coffee flavors, long ending. great value for money.
