Flight 1 (5 Notes)

  • 2007 Brice Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé 91 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Rich and slightly oxidative style, candied fruit, quite rich and ripe but no lack of verve, good length.

  • 1999 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 91 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Looks very young still, just a little browning at the edges; nose is lively and vibrant, with fresh red fruit, but also a bit closed and slightly bretty, evolves quickly in the glass; silky and harmonious palate, attractive, fresh fruit, ripe tannins, good balance, mourvedre provides structure, develops chocolaty notes; very good length.

USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills

Quite herbal and dry, little real Viognier character, not much length either.

  • 2011 Joh. Jos. Prüm Riesling Kabinett 88 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Typical young JJ Prüm nose, wild yeast and sulphur, peach and lime coming through; light and vibrant palate, off-dry, good ripeness of fruit, green apple; decent length.

  • NV Ardbeg Uigeadail Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 54.2% 95 Points

    United Kingdom, Scotland, Islay

Immense power and richness, deep and peaty and briny, but there is a rounded fruitiness that avoids brutality, excellent length. Champions' league whisky. Wow.
