Tasted double blind. Very ripe and very tight and firm. Clearly identifiable as very young Bordeaux. Backward and unyielding today with good raw materials, just not providing much pleasure today.
Tasted double blind. I immediately thought this Burgundy, while others thought it might be new world. A bit toasty and fruit forward. Easy to enjoy a lot, I just didn't find it very Chablis-like today.

Served double blind alongside the same from the 99 vintage, which was unfortunately flawed. This however is another excellent JAdot 1997, always a consistent overperforming wine. Ripe fruit with lots of power, but everything in great balance from start to finish. Very dense with mostly black fruit throughout, some earthy notes middle to finish. Served mid-afternoon, then stayed largely the same when finished 6 hours later.

Tasted double blind. Clearly from Burgundy, but seemingly much older than its actual age. Flawed bottle? I thought this was from a lean vintage in the 1980s.
Tasted double blind. Big scaled wine with some intriguing eucalyptus and menthol notes. Firm and robust fruit and structure for today, needs mor time in the cellar.

Tasted double blind. Easily identifiable as Burgundy, but I never would have thought this from NSG; however, this is an example of NSG's great successes in riper vintages. Intense, ripe and powerful black fruit with moderate spice, I thought this was from Gevrey! Lots of density, minerality and wonderful textures with very good balance and length.

Certainly stripped of fruit, I think slightly corked. Got worse with more air. I served this alongside its wonderful 1997 counterpart.
