  • 2010 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape 87 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Medium intense. Very little signs of age. Slightly thinning edge. Vanilla sweetness on the nose with black and red fruits and a touch of pepper. Soft start, bold fruit, good acidity, rich, long, young and fruity with a warm perhaps hot finish. Needs more time.

  • 2007 Domaine Lucien Barrot et Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape 86 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Med/Low intensity. Some colour change with a touch of orange on the rim. Baked fruit nose with a touch of spirit, port like sweetness. Tannic, grippy, warm, red fruits but thin in the middle, lingering and quite sharp.

    Med intense. Deep ruby colour with a change at the edge. Perfumed and summer pudding on the nose. Luscious, rich, fresh, good acidity, long and bold with red fruit.

  • 2007 Domaine Font de Michelle Châteauneuf-du-Pape 89 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Med/High intensity, very ruby. Lifted strawberry notes, aniseed, lovely. Round, soft, smooth, subtle, good acidity, fresh, great balance with a warm finish.

  • 2005 Famille Brunier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Domaine La Roquète 86 Points

    Med/Low intensity. Deep garnet colour with a thinning edge. Well developed nose spicy, baked fruits. Round, balanced, baked fruit on the palate but perhaps a little lacking, tannic - a little pedestrian. Perhaps needs a little time to get itself together.

    Medium intense, garnet. Perfume and black fruits on the nose. Warm cinnamon spice, bold intense, soft silky tannins. Still on the rise.

    Showing it's age and intense. Perfumed, red fruit, some vegetal pong! Lighter, perfumed, fruity and warm. A touch clunky.

  • 1994 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 90 Points

    Major colour change - almost Olorosso sherry colour! Med intense. Figgy nose with a nuttiness, perfume and maple syrup. Silky, soft, subtle, figs following through. Sweet and long but in a subdued and quiet way.
