Introduction

Ulla brought the wines, I tasted double blind

  • 2011 Louis Eschenauer 84 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc

    Decanted, tasted double blind. Hmm, this was a rather hard wine at first, took a bit of air to soften up. Red fruits like strawberry come to mind, even a bit of wild mushroom, quite a lot of tannins. Very young now, could take a few years to soften up.

  • 2007 Yvon Mau Margaux 86 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

    Decanted, tasted double blind. Quite a dark garnet red with distinct brown in it. Lots of cassis and vanilla on the nose, rather full-bodied, smells somewhat aged. The palate also has lots of fruit, but not sweet, some tannins, quite quaffable. Nice now, won't get better.
