Wonderful finesse and intensity, much more tightly wound, fresh and mineral than the Giulio Ferrari 2001 tasted yesterday, citrus (lemon and a hint of tangerine) and flowers, clean and precise, energetic, as fresh as a daisy at 9 years old, lovely length.
Organic viticulture. Explosively aromatic nose, an orgy of Malvasia aromas, of flowers and ripe fruit; wonderfully soft and silky attack, but with a lovely balancing freshness, medium weight (12.5% ABV), pure and elegant, playful, good flavour intensity; good length.
Refermenting in bottle. More bubbles and foam than Lambrusco! The restaurant manager at Osteria Frencescana maintained that it was correct and only took the bottle away after we had insisted it was faulty and that we did not like it. He later returned to apologise, confirming it had "gone out of control".

Fermented and aged for 8 months in amphorae, finished with 3 months on oak. Rich cherry-red colour; deep nose, sour cherries, spice, minerals; the palate is very young and still a bit tight and edgy but relatively low on tannin, attractive and silky with its ripe but fresh acidity, aromatic, distinctive; very good length.

Drinking very well on its primary fruit; nose of minerals, spice and sour cherries, hint of coffee; rounded out beautifully on the palate by the barrique, good intensity and tannic grip; good length. A complete wine.
A total of 1,200 bottles produced, from the Riu Falcon vineyard in Roncus. Barrel-aged, weekly batonnage. Lovely, spicy and honeyed style, candied fruit, intense, rich and sweet, balanced by ripe but bright acidity; good aromatic persistence. Nice but not very complex.
