100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% ABV, 20 months on French casks. The nose displays an untamed, initially slightly stalky, pure Cabernet character, with good sweet black fruit, distinctive but not green bitters and warmth from the oak; lovely ripe blackcurrant fruit buffers the energetic and tannic structure very well, there is good tension and the alcoholic weight does not get in the way; good length.
Bright, ripe, fresh, candied fruit, not unlike a Cognac at first glance but with a distinctive, sugary and raw depth, unpolished and powerful, long. Firewater!
