Leiden visits big bottle party Parkheuvel

Introduction
Excellently organized dinner accompagnied by good wines from big bottles. Wines provided by Vendanges Grands Vins, cooking by Erik van Loo and his cooks. There was also a red Clos Saint-Vincent Bellet, for which I forgot to make tasting notes.
2002 Daniel-Etienne Defaix Chablis 1er Cru Les Lys 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Wine tasted both from magnum and normal bottle. Normal bottle: mature wine, dark yellow colour, nose open, fruity (citrus, pineapple); taste also tropical fruit, saline and floral notes. Magnum is much more closed in the nose with less fruit, taste also shows less fruit as compared to the normal bottle but has lovely minerals and saline tones, more sharpe Chablis character than the normal bottle. I preferred the magnum.

2009 Clos St-Vincent Bellet Le Clos Blanc 89 Points

From 100% Rolle. First Rolle wine I have ever had. Nice nose and taste, a bit like Rhône white wines. Good body and finish.

2002 Maison Albert Bichot Corton-Charlemagne Domaine du Pavillon 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
From Jeroboam. Straw yellow colour. Nose mineral and floral tones, tropical fruit in the background. Taste rich and fresh. Peach, honey, some caramel, good grip underneath with crisp acidity and mineral backbone, long lingering finish.

2005 Domaine Fleurot-Larose Bâtard-Montrachet 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
From Magnum. Still a bit tight. Floral nose, some earthy tones, citrus, minerals. Different from other Batards I have had, but very agreable. Taste lovely fruit, good acidity, also floral and mineral notes. Already drinks fine, will probably evolve further.

2009 Lupé-Cholet Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Château Gris

Fresh fruity nose, clearly Burgundy. To my opinion more Morey St Denis like. Lot of fruit, caramel, tannins. Young wine, when tasting a bit too much of everything, after half a glass I feel I've had enough. However good potential, if this settles down in a couple of years, this will most likely turn out to be a lovely wine.

2007 Domaine François Lamarche La Grande Rue 93 Points

Red fruit nose, spicyness, minerals, comulplex. Lovely medium bodied red fruit taste, very clean, fresh, oppulent. Beautiful long finish.
