Introduction

The breakfast was upgraded with NV Gamla Hashmura Brut (defined as 1st flight of the day)

At midday we had a (blind) tasting at GHW (defined as 2nd flight of this day)

Shabbat reception was escorted with Muscat dessert wine (defined as 3rd flight)

All those great wines that we enjoyed during dinner were defined as 4th flight

    Israel, Galilee, Golan Heights

    straw-yellow colour
    ripe dried apricot aroma
    full bodied, silky, good acidity, pineapple & buttery flavours; pleasant ending

  • 2001 Golan Heights Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Yarden 92 Points

    blind tasting:
    dark red-black-brown color
    secondary & tertiary aromas
    full body, still some fruit, hints of spices & leather, earth, tannic, balanced, excellent harmony, very enjoyable, not yet at peak, can live nicely few years more.
    my guess was that it's a 2004/5 CS, as I didn't consider the possibility of a magnum, which it was...

    seems a bit close, possible at the dormant phase of this Magnum

  • 2010 Golan Heights Winery Malbec Yarden 91 Points

    Israel, Galilee, Golan Heights

    blind tasting:
    dark red - purple
    ripe red raspberries and blueberries aroma with light floral notes of violets,
    smoked meat and oak-vanilla.
    Full-bodied with lot of ripe fruits, soft tannins, med acidity, followed by roasted meat, vanilla and cloves flavours. Excellent structure.
    Pleasant soft & long elegant finish.

  • 2007 Golan Heights Winery Yarden Noble Sémillon Botrytis 91 Points

    Blind tasting:
    gold color
    dried apricots, orange peel and honeycomb aroma
    full-bodied, round, rich sweetness, excellent acidity,
    tropical fruits, citrus, quince, honeysuckle
    can still age 5-8 years nicely
