Dark ruby with youthful purple hue. It has a nice lifted nose of red cherry, flower, violet and hints of sweetness. Modern expression with plenty of fuits and hints of sweetness, light and smooth on palate. Very approachable and pleasant drinking with light tannins.
This a a classic Barbera in contrast to the modern fruity Elio Perrone Barbera d'Asti Tasmorcan 2012. Warm rustic nose, very typical of Barbera along with red berries fruits and hints of minerality. Red fruited palate, berries and cherry. It is a simple and approchable wine with soft drying finish.
A Barbera dominance blend (80%) with remaining 20% Pinot. This is definitely a step up from Mon Ross. Vibrant dark ruby red. Warm earthy nose with subtle leather, tar, a little savoury too. More robust, dry and structured, with dark cherry fruits and earth. Nice lingering finish with smooth velvety tannins. Drinking nicely now.
Drank from a 500ml bottle which is their standard bottling. Dark garnet, deeply coloured, intense and almost opaque. The nose is ripe and full with black fruits, roasted coffee beans. Still very young with primary fruits of dark cherry, dark plum and hints of sweet fruits. The palate is rich but balance and restrained with good acidity. Long aftertaste with grippy and ripe tannins. Good potential as it has got the structure to age well. Will be excited to see how it develop in few years time.
