Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • NV Benoît Lahaye Champagne Rosé de Macération 91 Points

    France, Champagne

Disgorged 2012, dosage 3 gr/l. Lovely blood orange colour, very fine bead; deep nose, orange and sweet raspberry, hint of sous-bois and wonderfully perfumed floral topnotes; creamy and silky palate, the ripeness of the 2009 vintage balanced beautifully by the mineral freshness of 2008, quite full-bodied, pure; good length.

  • 2012 Jamsheed Cabernet Franc Ma Petite Francine 90 Points

Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley

Minimal intervention, whole bunch fermentation, three months in large oak, low sulphur, unfined and unfiltered, 250 cases produced. Deliciously pure varietal nose, expressive and high-toned, flowers, spice, minerals and fruit; sweet fruit, medium weight, energetic and fresh, very juicy and pure, just the right tannic grip; good flavour intensity and length. Quite delicious, to be enjoyed in its youth.
