Introduction

A visit at Château Beau-Séjour Bécot in connection with the 2013 edition of Le Week-end des Grands Crus. One of those châteaux who had accepted to receive a limited number of visitors by booking through UGCB.

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

    Nose with sweet red and dark berries, some minty notes, almost eucalyptus, definitely a sweet nose. Palate with ripe and sweet red berries, slightly noticeable alcohol, medium tannins with rather friendly structure, aftertaste with sweet red berries and here the tannins bite a bit more. Good concentration, not particularly balanced. Fully drinkable now, rather risks disintegration with additional cellaring, 88 p.
    (Without the extra alcoholic feeling I had probably scored it 90 p.)

Closing

Yes, the total number of wines offered for tasting was one (1), and a rather weird vintage at that. I don't see how this could have happened anywhere else than in Bordeaux.
