Toasty with hazelnut, white florals, straw and vanilla. Full flavoured, with the ripe, slightly tropical fruit really shining and it still has a sense of balance and fine detail through the texture. Quite a striking wine.
Blood, musk and stems in the background. Full and quite long, actually the persistence is quite impressive. This is unmistakably US Pinot Noir, but it holds itself back just a touch on the richness which I do appreciate.
Kirsch, tea leaves, some high quality but very evident lashings of oak, blackberry and some iron. The sweet fruit on the palate holds its own and thankfully isn't obliterated by the oak. Incredibly fine tannin structure. I think this will age fairly well as long as the precarious balance remains.

2007 Cobb Pinot Noir Emmaline Vineyard 90 Points
