  • 2005 Dupont-Tisserandot Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 80 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin

    No varietal characteristics shown by the wine. It would be hard to even guess that it was Pinot Noir in a blind tasting. Tight on the palette. Tasted almost like a second pressing, just strong tannins and acid with little fruit or varietal character. No Pinot silkiness on the tongue. For the $40 price tag this is one to avoid.

  • 2002 Camus Pere & Fils Charmes-Chambertin 90 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

    Decent Burgundy with plenty of life still ahead. Good varietal character. Overall a nice wine. However, one expects a bit more from a Grand Cru. That extra delivery was just not there.
