Sapporo Airport Lounge

Could not resist the opportunity of trying some Japanese reds and whites at an airport lounge in Sapporo. The results were not too exciting but there is still the excellent draft beer in Hokkaido

• 2012 Grande Polaire (Grand Poreru) Kerner 84 Points

  Not sure what grape this is but not exactly dry. This is sweet and flat, and has a rather short finish. Still better than the Tokachi

  This was worse than the Grande Polaire. Flat, very watery / diluted with no palate or finish to speak off.

  Ruby color. Just like their white this tasted very watery / diluted with not much of a palate.

• 2012 Grande Polaire (Grand Poreru) Zweigeltrebe 85 Points

  Ruby color. Light but quite elegant on nose and palate with the exception of a slightly bitter note. Short finish.
