2002 Philippe Prié Champagne Tradition Brut 92 Points

Excellent showing and the best of the 3 bottles of this wine. Minerals, lemon, chalk and pear. Clean and good acidity. Really good value and much better quality/price than the rest of the Champagnes.

Almost as good as the Prie with apples, spice, pie crust and minerals. Clean overall and classic Champagne qualities unlike the other Grower Champagne: Pehu Simonet.

NV Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 90 Points

Overpriced would be the first thing that comes to mind on this one. Got better as it hit room temp. Citrus, floral, chalk and quite bitter. Just not as balanced as I would expect for a $65 Champagne. Had I consumed prior to this hitting room temp would have been an 88.

Not what you would expect from the region. Orange peel, sweet fruits and burnt toast. Not real balanced and certainly and over priced grower effort.

2001 Château Montrose 93 Points

Outstanding showing with funk, raspberries, forest floor, gravel and coffee beans. The nose was a top five of 2013. Palate while not as good added a cigar component and had a medium finish. Should age five plus years but honestly why wait when it is this good now.

Nice wine with menthol, plums, cherry, spices and green olives. Fruit forward style. Should age for another decade and could see this improving. 92-94.

2006 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve 93 Points

Excellent and my wine of the night. Young but showing great with blueberries, crushed rock, floral, coffee and cherry. Long finish and super complex. A another 20 plus years on this one. 93 to 96. Interesting in looking at the other times I had this wine as it is improving greatly in such a short window.

A strange wine and even stranger Cellar Tracker Average. Hot with spice, gravel and black licorice. If I wanted to teach a class on how an unbalanced wine would appear this would be it. With the cost probably the worst wine of the year.

Excellent with floral, orange peel, honeysuckles and simply sweet and delicious. Wonderful now or hold for 10 plus.
