Very fine bubbles, pale lemon and very lively in the glass. The nose shows fine white citrus fruits, ginger, lime, minerals, hazelnuts, lemongrass and biscuit and is followed by a full bodied palate showing similar flavours but meshing a core or pure citrus fruit with a strong mineral backbone and autolytic flavours….it is just so svelte and creamy. The finish is long and complex but just sound so tight. This is painfully young. I would hold this for another 5-10 years at least as there seems to be so much just waiting to get out.

The palate is very pure and elegant….it holds the 30% new oak quite well showing nutmeg, lemon, vanilla, spice, lemongrass and brown sugar and great balancing acidity. The finish is long, pure and expansive. This is definitely a richer style of chardonnay but with the acidity and balance, it is able to pull it off quite well.

This was a touch closed on first pour but really opened up after about 15 minutes in the glass. The nose showed cherry pit, undergrowth, mineral, spice, violets, incense, mushroom, strawberry, raspberry and more red florals. This is so complex and layers on the nose…WOW. The palate is equally complex….orange pekoe tea, cherry, mineral, violets, strawberry, raspberry, mushroom, spice, incense….some obvious stem inclusion which I love. The finish is just gorgeous….long, layered and elegant.

I just love these wines…..this was almost 95pts. Nose of burnt brûlée, orange marmalade, lemon and spice. Palate is so spicy….nutmeg, clove, and minerals mix with orange marmalade and lemon with beautiful acidity. Such balance Long, long, finish….expansive.
So dark…..60 years old? Nose of figs, dates, roasted plum, cherry liquer and orange. The palate shows brown sugar, date pie, raisin, plum, fig and spice with a long, expansive and complex finish.
