Arnoux-Lachaux of Vosne Romanee 2011 Vintage

Really strong across the entire line-up. The true values here, in my view, are in mid-range. The top end wines are excellent but carry a hefty price tag.

  Ripe, juicy and good acidity. Red fruits. Cranberry? Good every day drinker. Nice value.

  Situated below Les Cailles on the slope. Forward. Young and juicy. Sappy, concentrated core with lots of red fruits (sour cherries). Finish a bit clipped. Very good.

  Darker in color. Bright acidity and youthful. Plush velvety fruit. Very good.

  Higher on the slope. Touches Suchots. A bit reticent. Cooler menthol note. More velvety and plush than other Lachaux wines. Not giving up much on this night.

  Old vines. Full big nose. Darker rustic core. Lower acid than Proces. Solid, but will need time.

  Borders La Tache. Center of slope. Light, airy and bright with good acidity. Nice value, comparatively speaking, and solid overall.

  Considered stand bearer for Suchots. Situated up the hill to the North. Big dark and concentrated but very young. Fruit is there. Terrific stuffing. Should develop well over time but even drinking well today. Comparatively speaking, pricing seems a bit out of whack but hat Burgundy sometimes.

  Upper slope parcel. Cool, reticent. Good acidity. Silky and full. Black fruits. This is quite good.

  Up the slope. Wine of the night? Dark, brooding type fruit but solid acidity to balanced. Really silky texture. Nice finish.
