Ulla brought the wines, I tasted double blind.

  • 2009 Tenimenti Angelini Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Tre Rose La Villa 90 Points

    Italy, Tuscany, Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

    Decanted, tasted double blind. An aged brownish tinge to the garnet red. This was ready to go now, lots of very nice cherry, touch of green paprika, some vanillary oak, ripe. The palate had lots of gritty tannins, lots of cherry, a touch of sweetness. Very good now!

  • 2007 Tsantali Agathon Limnio Cabernet Sauvignon 88 Points

    Greece, Macedonia, Mt. Athos

    Decanted, tasted double blind. Quite a dark purpley red, looking young. Needed air time to open up, and when it did, there were lots of dark fruit, cassis, a bit of oak. Quite powerful on the palate, lots of tannins, dark fruit like cassis here as well. Another very enjoyable if different wine.

Two very good wines, the Vino Nobile was rearing to go!
