The sweetness of the vintage really stands out after tasting the '04 and '07 DdC side by side. Sweet, ripe black fruits and high level of concentration. Big mouth coating tannins but the huge fruit somehow keeps the wine relatively approachable. Can definitely taste the oak here but am guessing it will all integrate nicely given some time. Long and dry finish. This wine definitely has a long runway ahead of it; should be very good in 8-10 years. This wine was not decanted prior to drinking.

This was fresh with elements of chocolate and dark fruit on the palate. Tannins have integrated somewhat. The finish persisted for a while which pleasantly surprised me. This seems ready to drink now. This wine was not decanted prior to drinking.
This was quite an eye opener for me given my relative inexperience with bordeaux whites. Lemon, honey and vanilla on the nose. Creamy, rich mouthfeel. Citrusy on palate with a streak of minerality. Finish went on for what seemed like a long while. I can imagine this would go really well with a richer seafood dish. Nice!
