The last bottle we opened prior to this one was in 2011. In 2011 the wine was more acidic even though it had already receded from the previous bottle. The wine is now a tad sweeter and fuller than three years ago. Normally I would have expected a Sauternes to evolve with more balance over time, but this bottle seems to have gone the other way. Not a lot, but enough to taste the difference. The wine could used the additional acidity from 2011, but it is still delicious. Deep gold color, flavors of dried raisins, botrytis undertones, honey, slight citrus. Luscious and rich.
Very light gold color, and medium to light body. The wine overall was lighter than previous vintages but still delicious. Flavors of orange, honey, peaches were evident. Very young, with forward flavors and the acidity not yet in balance. In spite of these comments, it was a very nice wine. But I would put away for a couple of years.
Sweet carbonated berry juice. I suspect flavors are added during the vinification process rather than grapes creating the final product. Very sweet, red berry carbonated punch. Not my kind of "sparking wine".
Needs 45 min decant. Medium body. Muted flavors of dark fruits, bramble, soil, tobacco. Well integrated, smooth. Everyone enjoyed this wine, a crowd pleaser.
