  Off dry with good acidity, fruity, fairly simple, medium length.

  Very pale, almost colourless, legs.
  Very fragrant, grapes, pear drops, mineral notes.
  Dry, tight, cooking apples, very dry finish, quite long.

  Very light gold.
  Delicate nose with familiar petrol notes.
  Just off dry, fruity with honey, balanced, complex, quite long.

  Pale gold.
  Subtle vegetal nose.
  Off dry, honey, good acidity, a bit of an after burn, medium length.

  Medium sweet with good acidity, medium length.

  Light gold.
  Highly aromatic, very complex, lychees and Turkish delight.
  Lovely wine, essence of Gewurtztraminer, great balance of fruit and acidity, not too sweet.

  Light gold.
  A closed nose.
  Medium sweet, fruity, good acidity, not much Gewurztraminer typicality, disappointing, maybe it's over the hill.

• 1989 Hugel Riesling Vendange Tardive

  France, Alsace

  Intense gold.
  A petrol nose, honey, no fruit.
  Opulent from the attack, acidity balancing the residual sugar, minerality, brilliant breadth and complexity, wonderful.
