    Just a classic well built wine. Certainly more France than CA. On the nose you would think classic French Bordeaux. Not over extracted for such a young wine. Decanted for 8 hours. Drank this alongside the 09' Roberta's Reserve. Everyone liked it but prefered the RR which is 96% merlot. I was surprised that this Cab did not stand ahead. Not a good QPR.

    While this considered a Bordeaux blend it's 96% merlot. Not being a merlot fan I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing this wine was. Everyone at the dinner felt the same way. Tasted blind over the 09' grand vin cab state lane. After a 8 hour decant this beauty was smooth and well integrated. Dark lush and complex!

    After drinking a few Kapscandy wines from 2009' this was well received. In a good spot with the age. Beautiful cherry, subtle, integrated tannins. Lovely.

Closing

The reds were great alone and with food. The food pairing for such spectacular wines was sub optimal but it actually worked well. BBQ ribs with beans and Brussel sprouts is probably not what Lou Kapscandy had in mind.
