    Camphor/menthol/eucalyptus nose with crushed rose leaves and dusty leather.
    Powerful plum flavors with a hint of camphor in the aftertaste. Still seems quite young.
    Very impressive of its age!

  • 1947 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva 96 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Exciting and complex nose of sewer, camphor, manure and wet fur.
    Incredibly creamy palate with a lovely elegant fruit to it while still maintaining a delicious and well balanced acidity.
    A huge wine!

  • 1964 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo 92 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Powerful soy nose with dark plums, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Still leaves an impression of a young wine.
    Lovely and powerful young plum flavors with lots of chocolate and oak. Dense soy style flavors are dominating and it has a very harsh tannin structure.
    Seems somewhat unbalanced but still a good wine.

    Sulfur dominated nose with smashed yellow apples and white flowers.
    Full-bodied yellow plum/apple flavors which is very juicy. Perhaps a little singular but otherwise in a great balance. A stunning NV.

    The nose is very closed and only leaves an elegant style impression.
    Lots of green apples on the palate with a lot of elegance and beautiful flower aromas.
    A very solid and good wine very much in complete balance. An elegant wine but still with an impressive acidity.

    Dark cherry nose with flowers, coffee and menthol.
    Juicy dark plum palate with a hint of dirt. Perhaps a little too singular at the moment and there is room for improvement.
    However, still a harsh and rough wine.

    Complex and intense nose consisting of sea water, spicy camphor, eucalyptus and a little sulfur.
    Lovely elegant fruit but a little too singular with a bit to short aftertaste.
    Seems a bit off balance at the moment due to the excess tannins.

    Very intense red currant nose with a lovely complexity of bonfire, cabbage and coffee.
    Elegant and very intense flavors of red currants and plums with some nicely polished tannins.
    A beautiful and very impressive wine that will keep forever.

    Beautiful aromatic nose packed with sweet cherries, vanilla, lavender and rose.
    Sweet powerful cherry flavors carries through to the palate with a lot of depth and intensity. Just a hint of vanilla.
    Very impressive balance leaves a huge impression!

    Super intense nose filled with oxidized hazelnuts and coffee.
    Lovely oxidization of the palate also with an explosive array of coffee flavors. There is also a lot of Fino Sherry flavors with some oak influence.
    A stunning wine that is just adorable!! Extreme stuff..

    Toasted coffee and strawberry nose.
    Lots of yeast on the palate but also some strawberry and a huge acidity. A little banana and caramel is also coming through.
    A lovely wine but perhaps a bit short on the aftertaste.

    Very intense green apples and hazelnuts with a touch of oxidation.
    Extreme acidity on the palate with lots of green apples and hazelnuts but also some coffee.
    A wonderful and open wine with a beautiful intensity. An insane wine that is hard not to love!
