The Morgenster was WOTN but I felt the Kongsgaard, though completely opposite in style, showed just as well if not better.
2010 Domaine Bois de Boursan Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée des Félix
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Deep dark core with garnet rim; allspice, cranberry, floral, charred meat; dark and brooding on the palate, mineral, some heat, bitterness, olive, a little closed at this point in time, some horsey Brett, lots of juniper.

2009 Kongsgaard Kings Farm 93 Points

Black core with tiny plum rim; sweet dark fruit, blackberry, velvety Syrah-like fruit, sweet, chocolate cake, plush; big palate, tar, violets, vanilla, higher alcohol but the wine supports it, very rich and compact, good balance; drinking well now and more for near-term enjoyment.

2004 Mas Martinet Priorat Clos Martinet 91 Points

Dark core with dull garnet rim; nose of vanilla, cabbage, currant, stewed tomato, leather, dock, sandy, nail polish remover from unresolved oak; minty on the palate with cedar, Cab-like flavors and structure, harder tannin, very youthful still, fresher finish, sandy beach, high-toned balm flavor from the oak; this was good but needs more time to open up a bit and integrate the oak.

Dark dense core with dull crimson rim; tobacco, cedar, green pepper, cabbage, lots of Bordeaux funk, fully expressive on the nose, currant; softer palate, aged, softened tannin, coffee, maduro tobacco, sweet red currant, a hint of caramel, rounded fruit with less bitter tannin than previous bottles; a really glorious bottle; drinks like a 15-20 year old Bordeaux knockoff which makes this a steal at its current price.

Very dark core with thin purple rim; vanilla, juicy dark fruit, glycerin; fatter palate, Old World, hint of pepper, some grainy tannin but there is a definite Syrah plushness to it, red apple skin, redder fruit on the finish; good but lacked some harmony compared to other bottles.

Deep dark cloudy core with thin garnet rim; mint, tar, eucalyptus, soy, dark cherry; very ripe, advanced- must be a fatter vintage, some grainy plushness; called '03 Hermitage; surprised how advanced this '05 showed.

See through crimson with pale rim; pretty floral, meaty, little leather, sweet berry, fresh; some strawberry, cherry, green pepper, spicy finish with cranberry; you might call this hollow but it has really clean fresh flavors that make this wine really tasty although not extremely cerebral.
