  • 2009 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Langhe Chardonnay Lidia 92 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

    Nice floral and white fruit aromas. Understated richness on the palate with a buttery texture but at the same time still feels light on its feet thanks to the wine's freshness. No oakiness. Finish has some persistence. This is ready to drink now.

  • 2010 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbera d'Alba Gallina 90 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba

    Subtle nose of red fruits with some floral notes. The wine has good freshness but the tannins are still a bit prominent. Was surprised with this barbera's depth and finish. Very structured for a barbera. Would give it 3+ years to even out.

  • 2006 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbaresco Vürsù Vigneto Valeirano 94 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

    This had a really beautiful, expressive nose of strawberry jam, violets and freshly picked blueberries. Kept going back to the glass to have a whiff. This was the wine of the tasting for me. Such elegance and finesse with a palate staining finish that just went on and on. Fine tannins. A gorgeous feminine style of barbaresco. Approachable now but will keep.

  • 2000 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè 92 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Nose of cherries, tar and soil. 14 years old but still tastes fresh with relatively high levels of acidity. Tannic and astringent but the tannins are starting to round out a bit. Finish felt a bit shorter than the '01 and the '04. Had similar depth and complexity exhibited by the other vintages in this vertical which is to say, it was very good. Can drink now but better in 5yrs.

  • 2001 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè 93 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Nose was meaty, leathery and tarry. This is a big wine where flavors of earth, forest floor, smoke were more prominent. Good concentration but still very tight and tannic. Long finish. This will be better in time.

  • 2003 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè 91 Points

    The most approachable vintage in this vertical. I didn't feel this was as overextracted as some other users have experienced but at the same time, it felt a little more one dimesional than the other vintages. Oak was a bit more evident. Drinkable now but this should last for another decade.

  • 2004 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè 93 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Expressive nose of cherries, tar and earthiness. Good complexity of flavors but still hidden underneath a wall of teeth coating tannins. Cherries, licorice and spice with some savouriness. Long finish. This wine is still very young and tannins will take some time to smooth out. This wine is built for the long haul.

Closing

Wasn't sure what to expect from this as I have never tried anything from this producer previously but came away very impressed with the quality of the wines.
