Some nice wines at the cabin over the weekend.

  • 2010 Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux 90 Points

    USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Horse Heaven Hills

    This is outstanding wine for the money. Dark purple. Red currants, blueberries and earth. Medium finish and tastes 3 times more expensive than it is.

  • 2010 Ramey Chardonnay Russian River Valley 90 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

    Solid in every vintage. Oak, apple, vanilla and spice. Balanced effort overall with a medium finish. Drink now or hold a few years as I had just finished some 07s of these and they were still drinking well.

  • 2008 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Another good bottle. Raspberries, Garrique, spice and stones. Medium finish and very enjoyable to drink. No hard edges as one might expect for an off vintage. This certainly would be a candidate for wine of the vintage based on what I see.

  • 2004 Glaetzer Godolphin 93 Points

    Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

    Dark purple. Very rich wine with blueberries, cassis, smoke, dust and coffee beans. Very concentrated and still quite young. I will revisit this day 2 and 3 to see its evolution but I really like what I see. 93+
