Dark garnet with brick red hue showing its age. Nose of red fruits, leather and dusty smoky notes showing some old world character. Soft and supple palate along with red fruits, red currant, chalk, mineral and earth. Elegant and light in bodied, with good intensity build up at mid-palate with fresh acidity. Medium+ finish with a very soft grip. I quite like it, completely different style from Kalleske Greenock Shiraz but I thought this has more character than Kalleske but not for those who like opulent Shiraz. Good to enjoy on its own as it usually do not stand out in Shiraz tasting up against other fuller Shiraz. 2002 is the first vintage of Eric Stevens Purbrick Shiraz after rename from Reserve Shiraz.

Deep inky core with purple crimson hue and it does not show the age of 10. Subtle nose of black fruits, smoke and cedar oak. Supple and rich mouthfeel, aged nicely with sweet ripe fruits, smoky fruits and no more jammy and overripe fruits. Medium+ bodied, balance with touch of elegant. Long lingering finish. Pretty enjoyable as it mellowed down with age although did not show good complexity.

The colour is suprisingly dark althought not as dark as the Kalleske Greenock Shiraz, with some developed brick red tinge. Nose is pretty expressive with plenty of dark fruits, slightly jammy along with raspberries, strawberries, smoky oak and hints of floral. Mellowed down on palate and less jammy, showing good aging character after 10 years, well balance and exhibits sweet ripe fruits, blueberries, fruits cake and some smokiness. Nice smoky finish with a soft grip. I like this wine and hard to get a well made Australia Grenache, but aging definitely helps to bring down the jaminess.

It has a nice perfume nose although very much fruits driven, blackberries, blackcurrant with well integrated toasted oak and a touch of old world subtlety. The palate is also driven by primary black fruits, ripe and slightly sweet, with some earthy character at mid-palate. Medium full bodied with adequate structure, powerful finish with touch of bitterness and firm chewy tannins. It is still very young at this moment and taste like some international varietal that often made with such level of ripeness. I reckon it needs at least 5 years to start showing better complexity.

2007 Arnaldo-Caprai Montefalco Sagrantino Collepiano 91 Points

It is still very young at this moment and taste like some international varietal that often made with such level of ripeness. I reckon it needs at least 5 years to start showing better complexity.
