Closing
Best of tasting white was the 2005 Pinot Grigio, and best of tasting red the 2005 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir which shows great promise with all that bright acidity.
2005 Sanford Pinot Grigio 91 Points

Excellent pinot grigio. Aromatic with nectarine and citrus, more of the same on the palate. No oak, but round and flavorful.

2004 Sanford Chardonnay 89 Points

Very, very good chardonnay. Crisp with tropical fruit notes in both the aromas and the palate. Streak of minerality for interest. Touches of oak. Interesting and complex.

2005 Sanford Sauvignon Blanc 87 Points

SB in a fume style. Grapefruit aromas and palate, some herbs and mint as well. Round finish from the oak.

2005 Sanford Pinot Noir Vin Gris 89 Points

Peach in color, this rose made from pinot noir has strawberry aromas and palate. Very good.

Bright pinot, with raspberry and clove aromas and palate. Nice acidity. Some oak. Will be better with age. Not for drinking right now.

2004 Sanford Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills 88 Points

Rich pinot, with plum and clove aromas and palate. Distinct oak taste on the finish. May mellow in time, but lacks the bright acidity of the '05
