  • NV Azienda Agricola San Martino Malbec Veneto IGT 73 Points

    Italy, Veneto, Veneto IGT

    Ruby color. Paint, tobacco and cherry on the nose. Light body, not very much fruit on the palate. The acidity (added?) is not well integrated. Short.

  • 2012 Bodega Vistalba Malbec Tomero 79 Points

    Argentina, Mendoza

    Mauve/red color. Burned rubber, meat and blackberry liqueur on the nose. Smooth, dark berries on the palate, some alcohol in the finish. A bit unbalanced.

  • 2011 Odfjell Malbec Orzada 82 Points

    Chile, Curico Valley, Lontué Valley

    Dark color, like ink. Meat, dark berries and peppermint on the nose. Medium body. Quite moderate fruit on the palate, not what you would expect from the nose. A bit short finish, good amount of tannins.

  • 2009 Château La Reyne Cahors Le Prestige 85 Points

    France, Southwest France, Cahors

    Dark mauve. Rustic and warm nose, with meat, iron/rust and some medicine. Smooth and pure on the palate, with lots of tannins. On day 3 the fruit is more appearant, especially on the nose.
    Needs further storage or lots of air.
    Paired very well with a casserole.

    Developed color, a bit unclear. Rustic nose with meat, dried fruit and furniture polish. Smooth, but still a good amount of tannins. Fleshy style.

    Dark mauve color. Warm nose with forest fruit and some sweet spice from the oak. Smooth on the palate, with nice fruit.
    Improves further on day 2.

    Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo

    Dark red color. Rustic nose with flesh, some chemical notes, dark berries and dried fruit. Nice dark fruit on the palate. Smooth, dry and a long finish. Good amount of tannins. Very well balanced.

    Very dark and tight color. Flashy and massive aroma. Dried fruit and leather. Full-bodied and smooth, with massive, dark fruit on the palate. Good amount of tannins. Some alcohol in the finish.
    Very young now.
