Pale pink. Reticent aromatics. Red fruit flavors but fairly neutral entry, dilute mid-palate and tannic finish. Probably my least favorite of the flight.
Fuller pink. Strawberry nose. Light, gentle flavors (markedly less assertive than some of the southern wines). Very Pinot. Dry, slightly herbal finish. Delicate and quite lovely.
Deep pink/red (the darkest of the wines). Classic watermelon nose. Big, full bodied and mouthcoating with a tannic, brambly finish. Close your eyes and you think you are tasting something red.
Copper/salmon color. Bright, medium weight with a glycerine edge. Spice and green herbs more than fruit, lively, surprisingly mineral finish. This just shouts "Provence"! Bring on the bouillabaise.
Full copper/pink. Combination of cherry and melon rind. Not as full or weighty as the Tavel, but still substantial. Dry from beginning to end. Serious and tannic. A rose that demands a few years of aging.
2013 Denis Jamain Pinot Gris Reuilly
France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Reuilly
Pale copper. Strong sense of herbs on both the nose and palate. Light and sprightly with good acidity.

2013 Domaine de Marquiliani Corse Rosé Gris de Marquiliani

Very pale pink. Lightly citric nose. Lemon and fennel flavors, a bit of glycerine. Subtle flavors. Good.

2013 Lucien Crochet Sancerre Pinot Rosé
