Introduction
I had met François Mikulski over dinner 4-5 years ago in Chicago but this was first visit to the domaine. His English is much better now vs that previous meeting, while I still speak no French. The vineyards of Domaine Mikulski were from his mother's family and were formerly known as Pierre Boillot.
2012 Domaine François Mikulski Bourgogne 86 Points

Lots of both red and black cherry on nose and palate, this is a fresh-fruit driven wine with modest spice best intended for drinking starting 2015 for the next 3-5 years. Good density, balance now.

2012 Domaine François Mikulski Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-Du-Milieu 91 Points

Tasting at the domaine from bottle open ~3 days. All red strawberry and raspberry, nicely floral notes in support with subtle baking spice. Classic Volnay with mellow density, greater emphasis on delicacy and charm. A bit of new oak for right now (50% given the limitation given by just producing 2 barrels), so give this to 2016 or later.

2012 Domaine François Mikulski Bourgogne-Aligoté 85 Points

Slightly unusual for the Aligoté, this was made in barrels (vs stainless steel tanks) because the '12 vintage yields were so lwo that there simply empty barrels. Floral with appealing apple and pear aromas. Slightly less exciting on palate, but still with orchard fruit and lots of energy, even id slightly simple. Overall a very good Aligoté.

Slightly floral notes with good orchard fruit. More density vs the Aligoté, but just slightly more complexity. Also best next year or two.

2012 Domaine François Mikulski Meursault 90 Points

Tasting at domaine from bottle open ~ 3 days. Lots of apple come through here with lemon from middle to end. Very good length and depth. This includes all the Villages level wines, some of which are bottled individually in more plentiful vintages. The 5 (?) lieux-dits included create a very textured and nuanced Meursault in 2012.

Tasting at domaine from bottle that had been open ~3 days. Richer and fatter vs the Meursault AC, but less textured or nuanced. Good power and density.

Tasted at the domaine. Bottle open ~3 days. Big step up from Poruzots. Lots of layers, complexity and energy. Moderate concentration.

Tasting at the domaine from a bottle that was popped and poured. Floral start, overall racy with good energy. Lots of apple, some lemon at the end. Very long and well textured start-to-finish.

Tasting a domaine from bottle open ~3 days. Lean fruit with lots of energy and spice. Lemon and lemon zest throughout, clearly leaner style, very elegant. Very impressive length.

Tasted at the domaine. Green apple, pear and some lemon. Forward fruit with good weight, moderate length, well balanced. Good now, but should drink well for a decade.

2010 Domaine François Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 94 Points

Tasted at the domaine from a bottle popped and poured. Very floral start with great cross-section of fruit, including apple, pear, along with lemon and faint tropical fruit hints. Great spice support as well with lots of weight, complexity and length. Excellent.

2001 Domaine François Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots

Tasted at the domaine from a bottle that was popped and poured. Age appropriate. As much mature character as fresh fruit. Ripe apple aromas and flavors that give a slightly caramelized, baked apple sense. Good weight. Time to drink up.
