Introduction
I have had very limited experience with Sylvain Langoureau's wines. I was very pleased with these 2013s and think most will be very charming and enjoyable young.

Tasted from tank at the domaine. Lemon and lemon peel with good energy and balance to support the fruit. Simple, but good everyday drinker.

2013 Domaine Sylvain Langoureau Saint-Aubin Blanc

Tasted from barrel at the domaine. Apple, slightly austere fruit, more interesting textures. Good for its level and price.

Tasting from barrel at the domaine. Just finished ML, later than most other cuvees. Lemon and lime, lean and firm, very good potential here.

Barrel tasting at domaine. Richer fruit vs the Frionnes, perhaps a little less energy and lift. Good length, another potential good value, probably for early drinking just after release.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Lots of apple and pear and background spice. Firm and dense, this also has the best length of the St Aubin wines in the lineup. Will benefit from a few years in the cellar.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Good lemon start-to-finish. Bright and easy to enjoy, should drink nicely young.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. A trace of SO2 wouldn't quickly dissipate, so I found tough to assess in the allotted time. That's too bad, it's a favorite St Aubin vineyard of mine and I know I've enjoyed this from previous vintages.

Barrel tasting at domaine. Good cross-section of apple flavors and aromas. Open, forward with good concentration. Fruit, minerality and acidity all singing together in concert already. Will be very good value to drink young.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Forward start with lemon and subtle spice. Energetic in the middle, well balanced. Not as interesting to me as the St Aubin 1ers just tasted.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Much like the "les Pierres" just tasted, this showed good quality, but simple fruit, this time more orchard, less citrus. Again I preferred the St Aubin 1ers.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. For me, this was the standout of the 3 wines from Chassagne. Apple and pear with good density and pleasurable fat character, but well supported with acidity and minerality.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Apple and some lemon peel to start. Mostly apple in the middle with some good fat and intriguing nuance that Sylvain explains came from old vine millerandage. Very good.
