A larger range than I had previously tried from this Kermit Lynch producer

• 2012 Régis Bouvier Marsannay Les Longeroies Blanc

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Marsannay

  Medium yellow. Toasty and spicy aromatics. Round, some cinnamon, ripe, creamy fruit, good acidity. I must say that this was much more than I expected from a Marsannay blanc. It would be a nice substitute for Meursault on those days you can't splash out for one of those.

• 2013 Régis Bouvier Marsannay Rosé

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Marsannay Rosé

  Pink. Red berry nose. Light to medium weight, some spice, tart, tannic finish. I did not find this as charming as the Lucien Crochet rose I tried yesterday.

• 2012 Régis Bouvier Bourgogne En Montre Cul

  France, Burgundy, Bourgogne

  Even, medium red. Anise nose. Light weight. Clean black fruit and licorice. Brisk, short, brambly finish.

• 2012 Régis Bouvier Fixin

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Fixin

  Red, pale center. More earthy nose with some red fruit. Supple, refined, and crisp. Some mildly drying tannins. Very Gevrey profile and really very fine for a Fixin (although hardly a bargain at $41).

• 2012 Régis Bouvier Morey-Saint-Denis En la Rue de Vergy

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey-Saint-Denis

  Red with pale rim. Nose balanced toward soil with a floral element. Elegant for Morey, more earth than black fruit, tart, briary core. Honestly, I found this less impressive and less balanced than the Fixin.

• 2012 Régis Bouvier Gevrey-Chambertin

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin

  Light ruby core. In keeping with this entire range, light and elegant with more black than red fruit, and a very attractive earth/fruit interplay and balance. Gentle tannins which should permit relatively early enjoyment.

I was impressed with the quality of the one white wine and overall found the reds to be elegant and fluid. Looking back at my notes, I notice that there was very little mention of wood, which is always a good thing. Quite a nice introduction to 2012 Burgundy via this northern Cote de Nuits producer.
