Ordening a white burgundy and a well-aged rioja, thanks James, we've finished in the middle of a blind tasting. Absurd!

Burgundian-like colour.
At the beginning nothing more than glue. Minty gooseberries when takes a breath. Far away of those smoky notes of its big sister Magma.
Watery texture yet dry and bitter when finish. Full rounded mouth and ready for food. Clearly different.
Color muy borgoñón.
Pegamento al inicio. Grosellas en menta al dejarlo respirar. Lejos de los aromas ahumados de su hermana mayor Magma.
Acuoso de textura pero seco y amargo al final. Te llena la boca y acompañaría comida. Diferente.

2011 Comando G Las Umbrias Las Rozas de Puerto Real

This is a pale rosé wine colour. Translucent.
Ethereal nose with delicate perfumes of cherry sweets. Coming and going mineral aromas. Spiced.
I can't recognise if this is a Grenache but clearly a Las Umbrias bottle.
On the palate showed acid, short and slightly harsh cause, too young?
Color de un vino rosado. Transparente, muy pálido.
Etérea nariz con delicados perfumes a golosina de cereza. Bastante mineral pero a oleadas. Fondo especiado. No puedes distinguir que es garnacha pero desde luego si que es una botella de Las Umbrías.
En boca ácida, corta y ligeramente áspera, ¿por joven?

Profound crimson colour.
Absolutely mineral, coal and granite, on the nose with animal fur touches. Also citric.
Creamy palate at this point a little astringent and maybe too much hottie. Perhaps it's also uncompensated cause its youth.
It seems to have a long life ahead.
De color cardenalicio.
Absolutamente mineral, carbón y caliza, en nariz con toques a pelaje animal y también cítricos.
En boca es cremoso y en este momento un poco astringente y demasiado cálido. Quizás descompensado por su juventud. Parece tener una larga vida por delante.

Brilliant violet colour.
Rude nose, this isn't very interesting with beetroot can aromas plus fruit and herbs. Mineral? Maybe and surprisingly add slate too.
Very PN-like in the mouth.rich yet little simple.
Vivido color violeta
Nariz tosca y poco interesante con aromas a remolacha en lata y fruta y hierba al final. Mineral? Quizás y sorprendentemente a pizarra.
En boca muy PN. Abundante pero dentro de la simpleza.

2012 Castell d'Encús Costers del Segre Thalarn

Obscure colour presenting purple rims.
Amazingly Shiraz on the nose, hot and peppery with that artificial, heavy touch, sightly a plastic aroma that announces a future minerality. At least I hope so.
Mouth is quite similar to that nose, fatty and doughy but alcoholic.
It is non-sense for the appellation, in my illiterate opinion, to use this varietal.
In fact I love Ferrer Bobet, same winemaker, in Priorat making a solid yet elegant wine. No idea what this d'Encus is contributing to his fame.
Oscuro color con ribetes violáceos.
La nariz es espantosamente Shiraz, cálida y pimientada con ese toque pesado y artificial, a plástico que avanza la futura mineralidad. Eso espero al menos.
La boca no difiere mucho, graso y pastoso pero alcohólico. No tiene sentido. Y porque está variedad?

2007 San Pedro de Yacochuya Yacochuya

Reduced smelling, like a macerated plastic bag full of organic residues under the summer sun.
With time some aromas of liquorice, black pepper and veggie aromas.
On the palate is dry and short. A simple, short-haul bottle. Well done Monsieur Rolland.
Olor totalmente reducido. Como a bolsa de basura en verano, plástico macerado por los restos orgánicos al sol del verano.
Con tiempo aparecen aromas a regaliz, a pimienta y a vegetales.
La boca es seca y corta. Una botella sin recorrido alguno. Actúa como consultor Rolland.

2008 Achával-Ferrer Malbec Perdriel Finca Bella Vista
Argentina, Mendoza
Obscure colour with violet edges.
Quite floral nose. Notes of pencil savings and crude carob bean.
Too much wood at this point but elegant although lacks that power and complexity of Altamira that I admire the most.
Extremely young on the palate, fresh and very persistent. Fine acidity with some diluted tannins.
Oscura con bordes violáceos.
Más floral en nariz. Notas a minas de lápiz y a algarrobas verdes. Madera demasiado presente en este momento pero elegante sin la potencia ni complejidad de Altamira.
Extremadamente joven en boca, fresca y larga. Acidez afinada y taninos muy disueltos.
